Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Kitchen Manager / Head Chef to lead the culinary operations of our independent brunch restaurant. This pivotal role requires a passionate culinary professional with strong leadership abilities, extensive kitchen management experience, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of food preparation, menu planning, staff supervision, and kitchen operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and high-quality service in a vibrant, fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Lead and manage the kitchen team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising staff to maintain smooth operations.
- Oversee food production processes ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation standards are met across all menu items.
- Plan and develop innovative menus that align with restaurant branding and customer preferences while managing food costs and inventory.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen.
- Manage inventory control, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to optimize operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery during busy brunch hours.
- Supervise catering events and special functions as needed, including banquet services when applicable.
- Monitor kitchen equipment maintenance and safety protocols to prevent accidents or disruptions.

Requirements
Proven experience in fine dining or brunch restaurant settings with strong culinary skills.Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership in managing kitchen staff.Extensive background in food production, menu planning, and food service management.Knowledge of dietary requirements, food safety standards, and inventory management practices.Experience with banquet service, catering, or large-scale food events is preferred.Strong organizational skills with the ability to oversee multiple responsibilities simultaneously.Excellent communication skills to effectively lead a diverse team and coordinate with other departments.Culinary education or equivalent training is highly desirable.Previous restaurant management experience within the food industry is essential.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
