Job Description
The Associate Director oversees the daily operations of the college’s Information Technology (IT) team. This role ensures timely project execution and task management while collaborating with other Information Technology Services (ITS) units and the college community to implement IT strategies aligned with institutional goals. Responsibilities include data collection and analysis for process improvement and compliance with regulations and internal policies.
Key duties involve managing hardware and software deployment, user setup, and providing advanced technical support across Windows and Mac platforms. The position also includes administrative tasks such as data security access management. Strong leadership is essential to maintain efficient support services and foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment. Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, plus 7-10 years of relevant IT / computer support experience.
Skills and Knowledge
Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.Exceptional customer service and relationship-building skills.Strong project coordination skills, including planning, budgeting, reporting, and problem-solving.Excellent oral and written communication; skilled in facilitating discussions in various settings.Experience in personnel management (scheduling, training, hiring, performance feedback, conflict resolution) preferred.Expertise in cross-platform environments (Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android) and educational / administrative applications.Advanced knowledge of hardware / software systems, databases, networking, and enterprise application management.Familiarity with cloud computing, virtualization, and troubleshooting best practices; VMware Center experience preferred.General knowledge of A / V systems, integration, and scripting (PowerShell).Responsibilities Team Management :
Direct daily activities of IT staff, including full-time, part-time, temporary, and student employees. Ensure timely resolution of requests and mediate client-staff issues.Leadership & Development :
Promote strong communication, foster a positive and inclusive work culture, set clear goals, provide feedback, and conduct annual performance reviews.System Oversight :
Manage security incidents, privilege access, and mitigate vulnerabilities. Administer servers, desktops, and mobile environments; ensure proficiency with key software suites.Project Leadership :
Oversee IT projects such as upgrades, software deployments, and system changes. Develop long-term technical solutions and prioritize team workload.Resource Management :
