Habitats mission : Seeking to put Gods love into action Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes communities and hope. The Donor Development Specialist is responsible for executing Habitats donor program to help meet the organizations fundraising goal and build the individual and group donor base. This position is a key role in the Resource & Development Team which is responsible for a multi-million-dollar annual philanthropic revenue donor relations communications and volunteer labor required for Habitat for Humanity Lee and Hendry Counties to fulfill its mission.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Support Resource & Development to maximize overall fundraising revenue and the mission of Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties.
- Partner closely with the Director of Development to execute annual fundraising goals.
- Participate in supporting the execution of the Annual Appeal and Women Build Campaigns.
- Manage and execute Habitats annual grant program.
- Secure funds for Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties by building relationships with new and existing Habitat constituents including individuals corporations faith partners and civic organizations.
- Manage a portfolio of assigned individual donors increasing their annual giving deepening their involvement with the organization and maintaining the donor retention rate.
Utilizing the Donor Development Cycle managing the process of moving a donor through identification cultivation solicitation and stewardship.
Manage all donor-related needs related to construction volunteerism media and other donor recognition.Document all significant donor communications through written interactions.Collaborate with the Resource & Development Team to meet operational and budgeting goals.Participate in supporting the execution of special events.Build and strengthen mutually beneficial relationships with businesses and organizations through sponsorships campaigns and CCTCP.Other duties as assigned.Thrives on being results-orientedOffers creative solutions for all aspects of donor stewardship cultivation and recognition.Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for events and engagements.Shows professionalism poise and confidence when interacting with all constituents.Has a positive attitude is proactive in promoting the Habitat mission and is eager to excel in all undertakings.Ability to communicate effectively both written and oral; ability to influence and engage a wide range of donors and build long-term relationships.Demonstrates excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects on a deadline at one time with quality and efficiency.Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers and perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the organizations values : integrity teamwork and mission focus.Education & Experience :
Bachelors degree in communications non-profit management or a related field.Minimum 5 years of professional experience in sales / communications and / or fundraising / nonprofit organization; demonstrated success in a development function (managing and forging relationships with multiple donor / client sources).Tangible experience of having expanded and cultivated existing donor relationships over time.Knowledge and understanding of charitable giving and financial development.Demonstrates the ability to be persistent and authentic.Proficient in Microsoft Office.Understanding and appreciation of the mission of Habitat for Humanity.Valid Florida drivers license.Acceptable background check.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS NECESSARY TO PERFORM THIS JOB :
