About the Role :

Our client is currently hiring an Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk for a growing trucking company located in Compton, CA . This entry-level role offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in accounting while working in a supportive, team-oriented environment. The position is temp-to-hire , meaning after a probationary period, the role could transition to a permanent position with benefits.

Job Responsibilities :

Process Vendor Invoices : Verify and enter invoices into the accounts payable system for payment processing.

Reconcile Accounts : Ensure accurate records are maintained, comparing invoices to purchase orders and receipts.

Payment Processing : Assist in preparing and processing vendor payments, ensuring timely payments are made.

Month-End Tasks : Support month-end closing by reconciling accounts and preparing necessary reports.

Vendor Communication : Resolve discrepancies and address payment inquiries with vendors in a timely and professional manner.

Administrative Support : Assist with general accounting tasks and support the finance team as needed.

Key Qualifications :

1-2 years of accounting experience (entry-level)

High school diploma required; AA degree in Accounting or related field is preferred

Strong attention to detail and organization

Basic understanding of accounting principles

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)

Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team

Preferred Qualifications :

Trucking industry experience is a plus but not required

Prior exposure to accounting software (Dynamics experience is a bonus, but not necessary)

Work Hours :

Typical schedule : 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM, Monday through Friday

Compensation & Benefits :

Hourly Rate : $23 - $24 per hour, based on experience

On-site Role : Position requires being at the office in Compton

Parking : Gated parking is available for employees

You will work closely with the CFO and VP of Finance , as well as a small team of 4 other accounting professionals.

System :

Current system is older, but the company is transitioning to Microsoft Dynamics in the near future.

Training will be provided for the new system, so a willingness to learn is essential.
