Engineering Manager - Earn

We're looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead our cross-functional Earn Growth Pod, which builds and scales Kraken's Earn experiences across Kraken, Consumer, and Pro platforms. This leader will guide a team of talented Frontend (React/React Native) and Backend (Rust) engineers to deliver seamless user experiences that connect web, mobile, and service layers.

You'll work closely with Product, Design, and other Engineering Managers to ensure our Earn products deliver exceptional UX and technical quality. You'll also help evolve internal tooling that powers our global Earn management systems.

This is an opportunity to shape one of Kraken's most impactful customer-facing features, ensuring both reliability and delight in how our users grow their digital assets

The Opportunity

• Lead a cross-functional team of frontend and backend engineers responsible for all Earn-related experiences.

• Own the UX for Earn features across Kraken's core products (Kraken, Consumer, Pro).

• Oversee the Earn SDK and its integration across web (React) and mobile (React Native) platforms.

• Manage and evolve the internal Earn management tool, a backend admin panel for managing all earn strategies.

• Collaborate with the Earn Service Guild and Tech Leads to maintain consistent engineering standards across services.

• Partner with Product Managers and Designers to define and deliver high-impact features with measurable business and customer value.

• Champion engineering excellence, maintainable architectures, and code quality.

• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of technical growth, collaboration, and inclusivity.

Skills You Should Hodl

• Proven experience leading engineering teams delivering customer-facing products at scale.

• Experience managing a combined frontend and backend engineering team

• Deep technical background in React, Next.js, and React Native, with a solid understanding of modern frontend architectures.

• Strong cross-functional leadership able to align frontend and backend efforts in a complex, multi-platform environment.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Empathy for the customer and a passion for building intuitive, performant experiences.

• Experience in FinTech, DeFi, or trading products is valued.

Nice To Haves

• Experience building or managing shared SDKs or libraries used across multiple teams.

• Background in systems design or distributed architectures.

• Working knowledge of Rust (or similar languages such as Go or C++), and familiarity with async architectures, APIs, and microservices.
