What you will do
This is an entry-level role. Recent graduates and candidates with up to a few years of experience are encouraged to apply. Join our team to lead initiatives for the health and safety of the workforce by monitoring and evaluating industrial hygiene programs at your plant(s) to resolve and improve potential health risks in accordance with Federal, State, Local, and Corporate requirements.
This role is fully onsite in Geneva (5 days per week) and requires approximately 10% travel
How you will do it
Implement an effective industrial hygiene program in accordance with Federal, State, Local, and Corporate requirements, to monitor and assess employee exposure to current and potential health factors and to measure effectiveness of programs and procedures in accordance with Clarios Manufacturing System, ACGIH and other applicable IH standards.
Working under the direction of the EHS Manager you will partner with the broader Health & Safety, Environmental, Nursing, HR, and Plant Leadership teams to identify and deploy solutions that reduce occupational exposures and drive positive improvements in critical industrial hygiene metrics.
Develop strategies to reduce and eliminate health and wellness risks within the workplace, ranging from air filtration, ventilation, engineering controls, PPE, etc.
Quarterly testing for ventilation, lead and air, noise levels, etc.
Drive Clarios Best Business Practices and oversee its incorporation into the Clarios Management System.
Educate and train plant hourly and salary personnel in effective industrial hygiene and ventilation practices and procedures.
Lead efforts to effectively manage Legal, Governmental, and Corporate industrial hygiene records according to standards.
Review all manufacturing and support operations to assure ongoing, effective industrial hygiene practices.
Assess and analyze data, summarize statistics, and compile reports for improvement initiatives.
Maintain current awareness of applicable International, Federal, State and local health, industrial hygiene and safety regulations.
Maintain professional competency through participation in professional education and training programs and completion of any necessary requirements to maintain professional credentials.
Manage PPE room and locker assignments
What we look for
Required
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety, Chemistry or related field required.
Minimum 3 years of experience in an industrial hygiene role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Proficient knowledge of relevant laws, policies and procedures.
Previous experience with OSHA, ACGIH, or other equivalent international organizations.

Preferred
Graduate degree in Industrial Hygiene or Certified Industrial Hygienist, desired.
