Our client in the EV / AV space is urgently looking for a Lead Architect with strong experience in Java, API, Integration, POS, Payment Processing, C++ and UI to add to their growing team here in Irvine.
This position MUST be onsite 5 Days a week in their Irvine Location
The Lead Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining software for embedded systems. This role requires a deep understanding of both embedded and software to ensure that the software effectively controls firmware components and performs as required. The embedded engineer will work closely with firmware engineers, software developers, and other team members to create reliable and efficient firmware solutions.
Responsibilities : 1. Development :
- Design and develop software for embedded systems based on system requirements and specifications
- Write and optimize code in low-level programming languages such as Java and some C++
- Implement and test firmware features to ensure they meet design specifications and performance criteria
- Develop test suites for verification
Automate test cases
2. Integration :
Collaborate with embedded engineers to understand firmware architecture and ensure software effectively interfaces with firmware componentsDebug and troubleshoot issues related to firmware interaction
3. Testing and Validation :
Develop and execute test plans to validate firmware functionality and performancePerform unit testing, integration testing, and system-level testing to identify and resolve issuesAnalyze and address bugs and performance issues and make necessary adjustments to improve firmware quality
4. Documentation and Reporting :
Create and maintain detailed documentation for firmware design, development processes, and testing proceduresProvide regular updates and reports on project status, including any issues, risks, and resolutions
6. Collaboration and Communication :
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and product managers, to ensure successful integration of firmware with other system componentsParticipate in design reviews, code reviews, and team meetings to contribute to project planning and execution
Qualifications : Skills and Technologies
Education : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related fieldExperience : Proven experience in Software development for embedded systems, including hands-on experience with API Integrations, processors, and peripheral interfacesSkills :Strong Proficiency in Java and C++ as a bonusStrong understanding of software and embedded systems architecture,Strong Understanding of API IntegrationExperience within backend payment processing, POS systems and Payment devicesExperience with UI layersExperience with debugging tools and techniques for embedded systems.Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, Jira and DockerFamiliarity with scriptingFamiliarity with building tools
