SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Systems Administrator for a FULLY ONSITE opportunity in the Columbia, SC area. This candidate will provide enterprise level systems, server, and Active Directory support in a large Windows environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong customer service skills, experience managing enterprise management tools, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues.
Requirements of the Systems Administrator
- 6 years of IT helpdesk or customer support experience in a Windows Active Directory environment of similar size and scope; OR 6 years of IT experience involving Windows Active Directory, network, IT operations, or hardware support AND minimum 2 years of direct IT customer support experience
- Must be able to obtain and maintain up to Secret Clearance
- Strong knowledge of Windows Active Directory, Windows Server technologies, and enterprise-level system administration.
- Hands-on experience with SCCM, BigFix, or similar desktop / server enterprise management systems.
- Ability to support patching, software deployment, OS image maintenance, and endpoint security updates.
- Experience with enterprise management / monitoring tools such as :
- HP SIM, SolarWinds, CommVault, vCenter, NICE Vision Control Net, Nagios,
- Cisco PRIME, Dell OpenManage Essentials, Splunk, or similar technologies.
- Strong understanding of backup, restore, and disaster recovery concepts.
- Demonstrated ability to manage upgrades, monitor system health, and maintain steady-state operations in a large enterprise environment.
Responsibilities of the System Administrator
Perform daily system administration and monitoring of enterprise management systems, including system maintenance, troubleshooting, and resolving issues.Install and apply system security patches; perform hardware / software upgrades and OS configurations.Manage enterprise-wide data storage, retrieval, backup job creation, modification, verification, and recovery.Administer Windows Active Directory components including DNS, Group Policy (GPOs), organizational units (OUs), subnets, ACLs, user accounts, and domain controllers.Support steady-state file / print servers, application servers, media storage systems, access control systems, and virtualization environments.Monitor systems for compliance with enterprise-wide standards and proactively identify / resolve performance issues.Provide steady-state support for enterprise-wide desktop and laptop images, including patching, OS updates, and deployment through tools such as SCCM or BigFix.Support hardware installations, cabling / wiring adjustments, rack relocations, power source management, and backup media rotations.Create and update operational documentation and assist with research to resolve configuration or environmental conflictsAssist with enterprise-wide upgrades and changes in partnership with remote technical staff.Work Location : 100% Onsite in Columbia, SC
