[job_card.job_description]Respond to call needs and provide timely consultations and management plans for inpatients with a variety of gastrointestinal complications. Conduct bedside procedures, such as paracentesis or thoracentesis, as needed for inpatients. Collaborate with referring physicians, surgeons, and other specialists to ensure coordinated care for patients with complex gastrointestinal conditions. Participate in hospital-wide initiatives and quality improvement projects to enhance patient care within the gastroenterology department. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in gastroenterology and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities (time permitting). Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree with a current and active license to practice medicine in Pennsylvania (only). Board-certified in Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) (required). Fellowship in Gastroenterology preferred. Current ACLS certification (required). BLS certification (required). A commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care in both inpatient and consultative settings. Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team. The ability to manage a fast-paced call environment while maintaining a high level of clinical judgment and decision-making.
