We’re partnering with an engineering company to add a Tax Accountant to their small, high-performing tax department. This is a great opportunity for a junior to mid-level professional who’s looking to grow under strong mentorship while gaining broad exposure to corporate, state, and international tax functions.
Reporting to the Manager of Tax, this role will be responsible for managing franchise and property tax functions, assisting with income tax provisions (ASC 730 / 740), and supporting various tax planning and forecasting initiatives. In your first 90 days, you’ll learn the company’s systems (including Orion ERP) and build relationships across departments to understand business operations.
Responsibilities :
- Manage franchise and property tax compliance and assist with sales and use tax filings.
- Prepare income tax provisions (ASC 740) and assist with quarterly and annual tax reporting.
- Support tax planning and research projects, including analyses for new business initiatives and transactions.
- Assist with cash flow forecasting, estimating, and monitoring of tax payments.
- Collaborate with the Tax Manager on developing strategies for federal, state, and international compliance.
- Maintain documentation to ensure SOX and internal control compliance.
- Stay up to date on evolving accounting and tax standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.2–4 years of experience in public accounting or industry (construction or engineering preferred).Working knowledge of ASC 740 and general tax accounting principles.Analytical, curious, and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, team-based environment.Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.Master’s in Taxation or international tax experience highly preferred.CPA or JD is a plus.Must be authorized to work in the U.S. – no sponsorship or relocation offered.
