Job Summary : We are seeking a skilled and creative Computer Science long-term substitute in our Upper School. The Upper School Science Department offers a comprehensive and exciting curriculum that includes :
- Introduction to Computer Science (JavaScript) : Students explore computer hardware and programming fundamentals, and learn the basics of AI the basics training, including data collection and testing.
- AP Computer Science A (Java) : A college-level course covering object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms, following the College Board curriculum.
- Ethical Hacking : An advanced course covering cryptography, penetration testing, web application security, digital forensics, network traffic analysis, and open-source intelligence tools. Students participate in the National Cyber League competition
Key Responsibilities :
Teach a variety of computer science courses from Introductory to AP. Programming languages include JavaScript.Lead lessons and projects that facilitate students' acquisition of primary, intermediate and advanced programming skills.Qualifications and requirements :
Bachelor's degree required : Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.Previous experience teaching computer science in a grade 9-12 educational environment strongly preferred.AP Computer Science A experience is also strongly preferred.Proficiency in JavaScript and Java programming strongly preferred.Knowledge of cyber security or network basics helpful.Commitment to equitable and inclusive practicesLong Term Sub Schedule : Begins March 30, 2026 through the end of school year on May 21, 2026. Monday thru Friday, 7 : 50 am - 3 : 50 pm
Compensation : $200 per day
