Base pay range
$160,000.00 / yr - $170,000.00 / yr
This role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced financial leader to guide the fiscal strategy of a mission-driven nonprofit organization. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will play a pivotal role in ensuring long-term financial health, strengthening operational performance, and supporting high-quality services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As a key member of the executive team, the CFO will partner closely with the CEO and organizational leaders to drive transparency, accountability, and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the organization’s financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and audit coordination.
- Provide strategic financial planning to support organizational goals, growth initiatives, and program expansion.
- Oversee risk management practices and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as nonprofit financial standards.
- Develop financial models, dashboards, and analyses to inform decision-making and identify trends or emerging challenges.
- Ensure accurate, timely financial information through effective management of accounting systems and databases.
- Partner with program, operations, and executive leaders to align financial strategies with mission-driven priorities.
- Present clear, data-informed financial insights to the CEO, Board of Directors, and key stakeholders.
- Supervise and mentor finance staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.10–15 years of progressive financial and management experience within a nonprofit organization.Prior senior leadership experience overseeing financial operations in a complex, multi-program nonprofit environment.Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, forecasting, and the development of solutions to complex financial challenges.Strong knowledge of accounting systems, financial databases, and reporting tools.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate financial information for diverse audiences.Strong organizational and analytical skills, with a commitment to accuracy and transparency.Strategic thinker with the ability to balance long-term planning and day-to-day financial oversight.Collaborative leadership style with the capacity to influence cross-functional teams.High level of integrity, judgment, and discretion.Ability to work effectively in a mission-focused, person-centered environment.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex funding and regulatory structures.Seniority level
