Job Details :

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 00 AM
• 4 total weekend shifts required per 4 weeks
• Holiday shifts worked into permanent holiday rotation
• 1 : 4 patient ratio on Neuro Tele units (5NNB and 7NNB)
• Must have Level 1 Trauma experience required
• 2 years of nursing experience required, neuro experience highly preferred
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (2 attempts allowed)
• Must be able to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Insulin drips
• Must be able to interpret EKG with central monitoring
• Required certifications : ACLS, BLS
• Must pass Day 1 pass / fail SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Floor-specific orientation : 2 days on the unit
• May float to tele units and tele overflow in ICU
• Must have own vehicle for travel
• Dress code : Steel gray scrubs, natural hair color only, no facial piercings
• Men must be clean shaven for fit test
• Charting system : Cerner with WOWs
• Common patient diagnoses : Trached patients, CVA, TBI, spinal surgery, encephalopathy, ESRD, psych issues, brain tumors
• Fast-paced, high turnover unit with average length of stay 4-5 days
• Bedside reporting required
