Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring at least two years of PICU experience and BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
  • Patient ratios are 1 : 1–2 for critical care and 1 : 3 for intermediate care
  • Day shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week from 7 : 00 AM to 7 : 30 PM
  • Every other weekend and holiday shifts required
  • Will float to adolescent, pediatric, PHOC, and NICU units as needed
  • EPIC is used for charting
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position
  • Must be available to work at least two out of three major holidays
  • Returning staff must have a minimum one-year break from the health system before eligibility
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
  • Daily responsibilities include advanced pediatric critical care interventions and support for complex cases
  • Clean background and active, unencumbered license are required

  • Active NJ or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum of two years PICU nursing experience required
  • Certifications required : BLS, ACLS, and PALS; NIHSS preferred
  • Experience with CVP, CVVH, hemodynamic monitoring, EKG management, PEWs, insulin administration and pumps, NGs, IVs (ports, a-lines, central lines, PICCs), procedural sedation, IV vasopressors, EVD, VP shunt, ICP monitoring, HFNC, ETT, ventilation, tracheostomy, renal failure, peritoneal dialysis, wound care, and trauma
  • Experience with ECMO preferred
