Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : Nursing Specialty : Emergency Room Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night Hours per Shift : 12 Experience : Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience required License : Pending license accepted Certifications : ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC preferred, NRP preferred Must-Have : - Strong management of dysrhythmias - Central line care / management - IV vasopressors - CPAP / BiPAP - Experience with ventilated patients - Knowledge of isolation precautions - Triage skills - Procedural sedation administration / monitoring preferred - Ability to manage / apply splints preferred - Interpretation of arterial blood gases preferred - General emergency department experience with adults and pediatrics - Blood product administration - Starting and maintaining IVs - Emergency medications - Experience with CVA, abdominal pain, asthma, burns, and head injury - Skills in identifying and reporting abuse, infections, mental / behavioral health conditions, and respiratory infections - Experience with seizures, sickle cell crisis, and acute psychosis - Skills in managing violent behavior, psychiatric holds, and suicidal patients - Experience with chest tube insertion and management, intubation, gunshot wounds, and traumatic amputation Description : This position requires floating between locations as needed. Patient ratios are 1 : 4 for both day and night shifts. The candidate will provide care across various patient age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The unit has an interdisciplinary support team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy. A daily census of 72 is anticipated, with a total of 14 rooms and 17 beds in the facility. The candidate will participate in weekend coverage on an every-other-weekend basis. Additional specialties or procedures may arise, and flexibility in skills is essential for the role. The candidate should demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
