About the Role
As a Pattern Maker, you will design, build, modify, and maintain foundry patterns used to form molds for aluminum castings. Working with materials such as wood, metal, and plastics, you’ll combine traditional craftsmanship with modern CAD and CNC technologies. This is a full-time, on-site role that plays a critical part in supporting production, engineering, and continuous improvement.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned) :
- Fabricate, modify, and maintain production and non-production tooling to dimensional requirements
- Perform engineering repairs and tooling changes per instructions and drawings
- Read and interpret blueprints; calculate draft, shrink, and machining allowances
- Utilize CAD data and CNC equipment to support pattern creation and modification
- Safely operate multiple machines, including :
- Lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses
- Table saws, band saws
- Manual and CNC machines
- Use precision measuring instruments such as dial calipers, shrink rules, tape measures, and dial indicators
- Communicate clearly and professionally with Team Members, Engineering, and Management regarding tooling status and needs
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 10 years of experience as a Pattern Maker or closely related tradeWorking knowledge of aluminum castings is helpful (but not required)Proficiency in pattern-making materials, tools, and applicationsExperience using 3D CAD data in CNC programming (Creo experience is a plus)Strong attention to detail, quality, and craftsmanshipEducation & Eligibility
High School Diploma or equivalentWillingness to work overtime, including weekends, as neededThis role is hands-on and active. Candidates must be able to :
