Part Time Physical Therapy Technician

KORT is looking for a Part Time Physical Therapy Technician for our center in Lexington, KY! Starting at $10.25 an hour.

The Physical Therapy Technician performs a variety of functions relative to the smooth operation of the department and quality patient care. The position has the responsibility to set up, administer, and monitor treatment modalities and therapeutic exercise programs of patients as specifically designed by the Physical Therapist. The Physical Therapy Technician will assist others in the clinic as appropriate, while holding patient care as first priority. This includes setting up patients on video / educational materials, escorting patients in and out of clinic as well as restroom or car, assisting front office with filing, answering phones, making new charts, etc. This position is responsible for documentation duties including home exercise programs, pulling pending discharges, and assist in filling out progress notes. The Physical Therapy Technician is directly responsible for clinic cleaning and maintenance including cleaning of treatment rooms / tables, wipe down of equipment with germicidal cleaner, whirlpool cleaning, maintain preventative maintenance schedule, and maintain / update MSDS manual.

The Physical Therapy Technician must possess good organizational skills and possess the ability to handle information in a confidential manner. This person will have a pleasant personality with the ability to establish good working relationships with varying personalities (patients, co-workers, physicians, the public). This position must exercise discretion and independent judgment, provide regular and direct assistance to the Clinic Team Leader and Office Manager, and perform work, special assignments, and tasks under only very general supervision. This position does provide direct patient care unless prohibited by law or regulation.

Prior experience in a healthcare facility is preferred with exposure to patient care. The Physical Therapy Technician must have word processing skills, the ability to prioritize, judgment and decision making abilities, and must have the ability to handle multiple projects and complete assignments in a timely fashion under frequent and numerous deadlines.

Physical Requirements :

• Lift up to 30 pounds 67% to 100% percent of daily tasks.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for 67% to 100% of daily tasks.
