About the Role
This position is responsible for providing necessary leadership and training to the Quality Inspection Group consisting of Inspectors. The position will interpret company policies and enforce company rules and meet company targets within the position.
- Follow all food and personal safety rules and regulations in respect to GMP’s, OSHA, HACCP, the Global Food Safety Initiative, the site SQF program as stated in the FS&Q Policy, HSE, and sanitation guidelines as set forth by the company.
- Is ultimately responsible for personnel safety, product quality, food safety, operational performance, environmental, health and safety compliance, all local, state, and federal standard compliance, and the overall performance of plant operations.

Supervise Quality Inspectors
Communicate expectations clearly and ensure team members are appropriately trained in the latest product standards.Maintain a similar standard of the perception of part quality with the team of inspectors and leads.Responsible for assisting in the oversight and evaluation of quality inspectors for job performance to expectations.Direct activity for product disposition.Establish priorities of team members daily as needed.Customer Management
When Quality issues arise, it is the quality supervisor’s responsibility to communicate clearly with plant quality inspectors and floor personnel.A key team member is functioning on the problem reporting and resolution team.Ensuring when feedback is given that an 8D / 5 is entered into PLEX for tracking and response.Support special function testing for engineering and sales.Quality Management System
Promote the quality management system to ensure all products are produced correctly and adequately meet customer needs.Maintain the oversite and supporting the function of gage calibration and record storage.Will train and certify to function as back-up SQF Practitioner.Report on Quality Metrics
The Supervisor will support the report on daily quality metrics to other members of the management team.Identify Safe Working Environment Protocols
The Quality Supervisor will assist with ensuring protocols and GMPs are in place and followed.Will represent quality on the plant safety committee.Duties / Responsibilities
Lead improvement activities for quality, delivery, cost, and safety objectives and will support continuous improvement.Support the preparation of standardized work procedures and facilitate effective communication of procedures to affected areas.Support the development of training documents and facilitate training; assist in troubleshooting quality issues.Must be able to successfully lead and function within a team environment and be able to adapt to change.Responsible for 5S activities for assigned areas.Supports compliance with PLEX production System procedures and trains and develops Quality members on proper procedures.Facilitate good communication with the quality and production members for establishing expectations and problem resolutions.Must be able to coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. (Multiple project requests)Receptive of training and performing functions in numerous areas.Responsible for implementation and follow-up of countermeasure activities related to customer and department issues as assigned.Maintain safety and address concerns immediately.Must ensure all safety procedures and practices are implemented and followed in the quality areas.Responsible for proper waste disposal and any other activities associated with the established process.Must complete all necessary reporting and required paperwork.Record retention review and storage.Communicate effectively with others, using both oral and written communication skills.Required Skills / Abilities

High School Diploma or GED required.The ideal candidate will possess 5 or more years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably in a related industry.Computer Skills
Ability to operate computerized equipment is required. Must be proficient in EXCEL, Word, and PowerPoint. Also, must have a working knowledge of PC applications and perform data entry. Will be required to attend training as necessary. Ability to learn and support others in using the PLEX business system.Other Requirements

This position is required to work in an office environment inside of a manufacturing facility with frequent exposure to the shop floor where PPE is required. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
