A boutique litigation firm in Fort Lauderdale is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to support a team of partners and associates. This position is ideal for a candidate with strong litigation support skills who enjoys a collaborative, professional, and friendly environment with excellent work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support attorneys in commercial litigation and international arbitration matters
- Prepare and e-file pleadings and motions in state and federal courts (via ePortal, CM / ECF, and eCourtesy)
- Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial preparation logistics
- Draft correspondence, prepare binders, and assist with case research and pulling cases
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, building personnel, and office manager regarding supplies and facilities
- Answer incoming calls (light volume, averaging five calls per day) and assist with general office administration
- Assist with billing, docketing, mailing, and document management
- Collaborate closely with attorneys and colleagues to ensure seamless workflow and excellent client service
Qualifications
3+ years of experience as a litigation legal assistant (commercial litigation preferred)Strong knowledge of State and Federal Rules of Civil ProcedureProficiency with electronic filing in state and federal courtsExcellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skillsExperience with motion practice, pleadings, trial preparation, and schedulingAbility to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervisionFamiliarity with Clio, NetDocuments, Microsoft Word, Adobe PDF, and Outlook preferredBilingual (English / Spanish) a plusWhy Join This Firm?
