[job_card.job_description]Work in a 30-bed Med / Surg Tele unit of a hospital setting Care for adolescents, adults, and geriatrics with a mix of medical-surgical and telemetry needs, including pre / post hemodialysis care 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and one major holiday required Possible float to other Med / Surg Tele units Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 6, subject to change based on staffing Unit uses Alaris pumps, Hercules beds, BiPAP, Trachs, CPAP, chest tubes, and tube feeds / Kangaroo pumps Phlebotomy skills required, with 1-2 CNAs and sitters per shift Duties include initial and ongoing patient assessment, implementing treatments, and evaluating outcomes Responsible for managing medications, coordinating care, and patient / family education Participation in ongoing quality improvement and patient safety initiatives expected Major holiday coverage is required by rotation Pass / fail EKG testing is administered on day one, with two attempts allowed Support from 1-2 CNAs per shift and availability of sitters for patient monitoring Float to similar units as needed based on facility requirements Active VA or compact RN license required Current BLS certification required At least 1 year of recent acute care RN experience required Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required Must live at least 50 miles from the facility and provide proof of address Must pass a dysrhythmia (EKG) exam on the first day, with study guide provided Experience with care of CAPD, chest tubes, BiPAP, and telemetry preferred High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
