Substitute Instructional Assistant (Paraprofessional)

Qualifications / Experience :

High School Diploma / GED.

A successful background check is required.

Prefer experience working with school age children.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Needed :

Patience flexibility love for children confidentiality teamwork self-starter takes direction easily excellent communication skills behavior management skills assist in the classroom and in special education classroom.

Exemplifies the following Five Character Traits : compassion respect responsibility self-discipline and honesty.

Specific Tasks :

Work with student throughout the day assisting with behavior and academics. Refocus the student in the classroom de-escalate negative behavior recognize and acknowledge positive behavior work cooperatively with classroom teacher and Special Education staff.
