Position Summary

As a Registered Nurse in our Endoscopy Unit, you will play a crucial role in planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. Make a meaningful impact in a collaborative environment focused on patient education and support.

Position Requirements

  • Nursing diploma or degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current nursing license in the state of Tennessee.
  • Must be available to respond to the hospital within thirty minutes for on-call duties.
  • A minimum of one year of medical / surgical nursing experience.
  • BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.

    • Workplace Experience

    Experience in perioperative care is preferred.

    Physical Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Capability to stand or work for up to twelve hours a day.
  • Ability to lift and assist patients weighing up to 250 lbs with support.
  • Able to transport patients as necessary.

    • Performance Standards

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments for all patients promptly upon admission.
  • Develop individualized care plans based on identified patient needs and consistent with best practices.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of patient care.
  • Provide education and emotional support to patients and families throughout the care process.
  • Demonstrate independence in managing treatments and following established protocols.
  • Handle, prepare, and administer medications safely in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Document patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Reassess and modify patient care plans based on evaluations of patient responses.
  • Maintain a therapeutic environment for patients and their families.
  • Support staff development and assist in training new employees.
  • Be flexible in staffing and assist in other surgical areas as needed.
