Job Title
Clinical Duties
Greet patients, verify demographics, and prepare them for visits. Measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, height, BMI, oxygen saturation). Perform point-of-care testing (strep, flu, COVID, urinalysis, blood glucose, pregnancy tests, etc.). Assist providers with procedures (suturing, splinting, wound care, abscess drainage, orthopedic immobilization, etc.). Review and document patient history, current medications, and allergies. Perform basic clinical tasks such as EKGs, vision / hearing screenings, wound care and specimen collection (urine, blood, swabs). Follow infection control and safety procedures (PPE, room cleaning, sterilization of instruments). Provide patient education on health maintenance, medications, and follow-up instructions.
Administrative Duties
Schedule patient appointments, referrals, and diagnostic tests. Manage and document patient messages, prescription refill requests, and provider communications. Update electronic health records (EHR) accurately and promptly. Handle prior authorizations and insurance verifications as needed. Support population health initiatives and Care Gaps (outreach calls, chronic disease management, preventive screenings). Coordinate with labs, imaging centers, pharmacies, and specialists. Maintain patient's privacy and secure patient privacy information Will need to float to other sites and cross cover as needed Will attend and complete agency trainings as assigned Demonstrate understanding and commitment of the health center mission, Values and Standards Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the established CHC Values and Standards Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required, Associate Degree in Medical Office Assistant or equivalent preferred Previous experience preferred Bilingual in Spanish / English or Portuguese / English is a plus Work experience similar to a medical office environment Computer skills for accurate data entry Knowledge of basic medical terminology AHA BLS Health Care Provider certification or equivalent Hearing to distinguish difference in heartbeat and breathing of patients and to hear instructions. Near visual acuity to read gauges and dials on equipment. Color vision for perceiving changes in patient's skin color or color of solutions.
