Shuttle Driver
Summary of Position :
To move vehicles for processing and release to rail, haul-away carrier, plant returns and repairs / modifications and also to move vehicles to shipping companies as determined by our customer.
Essential Functions, Duties and Tasks :
- Drive vehicles from point A to point B as determined by customer requirements.
- Ensure vehicles are parked in proper locations.
- Ensure vehicles are available for work in the other areas.
- Ensure yard quality standards are met and maintained.
- Drive vehicles in-yard and over public roadways safely.
- Inspect cars to detect damage and to verify accessories are turned off.
- Abide by Vehicle Handling Instructions and processes required by the customer(s).
- Park vehicles in assigned areas according to model and bay locations.
- Move vehicles from staging areas to shipping bay locations.
- Must be able to follow directions.
- Drive vehicles to the first point of rest from 25 feet to 3 miles.
- Maintain production standards of units per hour to meet production standards.
- Ability to be transported via van to staging areas.
- Ability to walk distances in-yard in order to get to vehicles required to be moved.
- Any duties as assigned.
- A behavior and conduct that maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so you get along with customers, vendors, co-workers and management.
- Good and regular attendance.
- Ability to work in a variety of situations.
- Must be able to work 11 hour shifts to support customer requirements
- Notify supervisor of any workplace hazards or unsafe conditions.
