Veterinary Technician - Midshift

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Avondale, AZ is seeking knowledgeable and skilled Daytime Veterinary Technicians to join our team!

• Veterinary Technician experience required.

Position : Emergency Veterinary Technician

Pay : $21.00 - $30.00 / hr.

Schedule : Friday, Saturday and Sunday 2 PM - 2 AM

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through Kahuna leveling system .

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.

For example :

Mon – Fri : 6pm to 8am = $3.50 Shift Differential

Sat & Sun : 6pm to 8am = $5.00 Shift Differential

Sat & Sun : 8am to 6pm = $3.50 Shift Differential

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will :

Induce,monitorand recover anesthesia in patients and useanesthesia / monitoringequipment.

Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospitalincludingobtaining vitals such as temperatureheart rate, respiratoryrateand blood pressure.

Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.

Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heartand respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.

Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.

Identify patients at riskforarrest and initiate CPR.

Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.

Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.

Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.

Havea passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.

Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
