Job Description
The Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology will execute brand strategy and tactics in field, manage sales performance, and build strong customer relationships to maximize short‑ and long‑term sales performance. The role places the patient at the center of all efforts and operates within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Create pre‑call plans using SMART objectives and execute post‑call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance.
- Proactively serve customer needs, expectations, and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win‑win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers.
- Build understanding of customer needs and market landscape, share insights with in‑field team, brand team, and sales manager to align strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie value proposition with health providers, identify and maintain disease‑state experts and speakersates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in health, science, pharmacy, or business‑related field preferred; equivalent industry experience required.Minimum five (5) years of experience with at least three (3) years in the pharmaceutical / health / science industry; high school diploma / GED required.In‑depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic thinking.Proven track record of sales success, solid presentation skills, and ability to adapt selling approach to customer style.Effective in a matrix environment and a credible, respected role model who influences peers and mentors leaders.Experience in leadership and support roles at district, region, or organizational levels.Preferred : Proven track record in sales performance within relevant therapeutic areas and experience in physician / account‑based selling or marketing.HCIR credentialing requirements must be satisfied and maintained.Valid driver’s license, and ability to meet safe driving requirements.Key Stakeholders
External : Specialty Physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other brand plan stakeholders.Internal : In‑field team members, sales management, marketing management, training, customer excellence, and brand plan stakeholders.Additional Information
