Part Time : Server / Diet Aide

Option 1 : Part Time

  • MON : 530am - 2pm
  • WED : 6am - 1145am
  • THURS : 6am - 1145am
  • FRI : 6am - 1145am

Option 2 : Part Time

  • SUN : 11am - 730pm
  • MON : 11am - 730pm
  • FRI : 11am - 730pm
  • Compensation : $21-$22

    • Job Description

    The Server / Nutrition Services Diet Aide is responsible for meal tray set-up and the preparation / portioning of therapeutic diets for the skilled nursing tray line in accordance with physician orders and posted therapeutic diet menus. Assists with the set-up of assisted living restaurant style dining room prior to meal service and takes resident meal orders in a courteous manner.

    Principle Duties

  • Responsible for completing pre and post-meal time checklists for skilled nursing tray line and assisted living dining room.
  • Clear dishes from dining room tables, before during and after meal service.
  • Sets up tables in the health center dining rooms and breaks down same after meal.
  • Transports hot and cold foods to and from the kitchen. Transports all required non-food items to and from the kitchen.
  • Maintains station equipment and work area in safe and sanitary conditions per manufacturer guidelines.

    • Qualifications

  • Strong desire to work with and have empathy for the elderly.
  • Excellent customer service and listening skills.
  • Be reliable, organized and a team player.
  • Food handler card (obtainable through community)
  • Six month's experience as a diet aide or diet clerk in a skilled nursing facility preferred but not required. Will train on-the-job.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic. Ability to understand measurements and conversions.
  • Ability to interpret standardized recipes, instructions, specifications and standards.
  • Ability to plan and organize work, set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders and interpret specifications and standards.
