Primary Purpose

To manage and be responsible for the marine department achieving budgeted contribution; to manage a team of adjusters and surveyors and to produce quality claim handling and services.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Builds and maintains relationships with internal and external customers.
• Monitors workloads to ensure work is properly allocated.
• Responds to and resolves complaints.
• Achieves budgeted margin for department operations.
• Develops and maintains customer relationships and works with VP of Marine to develop new clientele.

Qualifications

Education & Licensing : Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Experience : Ten (10) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Skills & Knowledge : Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills; PC literate, including Microsoft Office products; good customer service skills; good organizational skills; leadership / management / motivational skills; analytical and interpretive skills; strong project management skills; excellent interpersonal skills; excellent negotiation skills; ability to work in a team environment; ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies.
