Description
SUMMARY
The Development Assistant is primarily responsible for data entry, gift processing and acknowledgement of financial gifts, updating database records, responding to donor informational requests, producing gift reports and upholding donor acknowledgment policies. Additionally, the Development Assistant provides assistance with SVDP events, volunteer initiatives and other Development team projects as needed.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Development Database
- Performs duties associated with intake of charitable gifts including timely and accurate data entry and acknowledgement within 48 hours of the following :
- In-kind gifts
- Monthly donor ACH
- Credit card / online gifts
- Maintains Raiser's Edge records including address updates and removal of duplicate records.
- Produces reports from Raiser's Edge as needed.
Donor Outreach
Works with Development team to plan and execute regular reviews and updates of all acknowledgement letters, as well as customization of individual acknowledgement letters.Execute departmental mailings accurately and efficiently. This includes utilizing the mail merge function for donor communications and solicitation appeals.Provides timely response to donor inquiries received by phone, email, or mail.Assists with donor stewardship calls, mailings, tours and cultivation events.Administrative Support
Serves as main point of contact for the Administrative Office with duties that include admitting and greeting guests and monitoring the general email and voicemail box.Creates daily revenue log of checks and cash received.Monitors SVDP USPS postage meter.Monitors postage accounts for BRE and bulk permit mail.Maintains, files, and organizes Development and Marketing print materials.Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's Degree, required.Computer proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Teams, use of internet, calendaring, and emailExcellent customer service, written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.Self-starter with ability to work independently and meet deadlines.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Light Work : Lifting 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and / or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. It involves sitting most of the time with a degree of pushing / pulling of arm / or leg controls.
