Revenue Management HIM Document Imaging Specialist
Pay : $18-$19 / hour (DOE)
Location : Remote
Eligible States : AL, AZ, CO, GA, ID, IL, MA, MI, NV, NM, NC, SC, PA, TX, VA, WA
Schedule : Full-Time (40 hours / week)
Schedule & Flexibility
Training Period : Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 AM-5 : 00 PM
Post-Training : 100% flexible scheduling
Work any hours Sunday-Saturday as long as 40 hours are met
Options include 4x10s, split shifts, or working independently at preferred times
Role is fully productivity / metrics -based once training is complete
Position Overview :
The Revenue Management HIM Document Imaging Specialist supports the company's Health Information Management (HIM) operations by ensuring the accurate preparation, imaging, indexing, and management of medical records. This role is critical to maintaining compliance, data integrity, and workflow efficiency while meeting departmental productivity and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Perform technical procedures to prepare, scan, index, and store medical records in compliance with our legal medical record policies
Review, validate, correct, and commit document imaging errors within assigned queues while meeting KPI goals
Monitor and work document correction and backlog queues
Research missing or misfiled documents and ensure proper resolution
Collaborate with vendor partners to ensure work queue accuracy
Assist with department email resource inbox for timely issue resolution
Conduct document quality reviews in accordance with policy
Research and redirect misrouted mail to appropriate departments
Assist with Risk Management chart reviews
Prepare documents for secure destruction per policy guidelines
Compile monthly audit reports, identifying trends and error patterns related to document preparation, scanning, and indexing
Provide training and education to document imaging team members
Participate in system upgrade testing and workflow enhancements
Troubleshoot technical issues and escalate to IT when necessary
Maintain productivity, timeliness, and quality standards; track outcomes via spreadsheets, databases, or documentation tools
Maintain regular and punctual attendance in accordance with our policies and all applicable regulations
Ensure ongoing compliance with all our policies and procedures
Performance Expectations :
Work is entirely productivity-driven
Expected to process a minimum volume of documents from assigned work queues
Accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to quality standards are critical success metrics
Requirements (Must-Haves) :
Must own personal equipment : Windows-based laptop and monitor (no MacBooks or Chromebooks)
2+ years of experience working with patient accounting or billing documentation
Strong familiarity with healthcare billing-related records and documentation workflows
Ability to work independently and meet productivity benchmarks in a remote environment
Epic EMR experience
Nice to Haves :
Experience with OnBase and / or McKesson document management systems
