Accountabilities
Supervisory / Management Responsibility
This position does not have managerial responsibilities and reports to a supervisor, manager, or director.
Minimum Requirements
Graduate from an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy program or be eligible for licensure in South Carolina, or a senior student graduating in the next three months.
Required Certifications / Registrations / Licenses
Must possess or be eligible for a Respiratory Care Practitioner license in South Carolina. BLS certification required. NBRC credentials must be maintained. Employees hired prior to June 2016 may hold Certified Respiratory Therapist status. New hires since June 2016 are required to pass the Therapist Multiple Choice Exam and the Clinical Simulation Exam within six months of graduation; failure to do so will lead to termination.
NRP and PALS certifications are required before working independently in the NICU and PICU.
Other Required Skills and Experience
Ability to work effectively in a team setting is essential. Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills are required.
