Opportunity Overview
The Director of Information Technology (IT) is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership across the All Flex Solutions locations, overseeing IT strategy, ERP / business systems, cybersecurity and regulatory compliance, team development, and enterprise infrastructure. This role ensures that technology systems, processes, and capabilities enable the company’s long-term growth, operational excellence, and multi-site consistency.

As a strategic business partner, the IT Director will lead the development of a best-in-class, scalable IT infrastructure and ERP ecosystem while building and mentoring a strong, high-performing IT team.

The role provides a platform to influence enterprise strategy, enhance operational capability, strengthen cybersecurity and compliance posture, and implement technology initiatives that will position All Flex Solutions for the next generation of manufacturing excellence.
The Position
The Director of IT provides the vision and leads in the design, development, and implementation of information technology initiatives that create customer and business value.
This is an opportunity to be instrumental in a multi-year digital strategy and transformation that is underway across All Flex Solutions. The individual in this role will collaborate with leaders throughout the Granite community as a member of the Technology Affinity and the NetSuite Leadership Group.
Key responsibilities include :
IT Strategy
- Provide strategic leadership of the IT function across All Flex Solutions sites, ensuring consistent processes, practices, and cybersecurity procedures companywide.
- Build and evolve the IT organizational structure, capabilities, and strategic roadmap to support current operations and future growth.
- Lead the development and execution of technology initiatives that enhance competitiveness, operational efficiency, and profitability.
- Communicate the IT vision, roadmap, project priorities, service commitments, and performance metrics to executive leadership, the IT team, and broader employee groups.
- Develop and manage IT budgets, ensuring appropriate funding for the project pipeline, infrastructure needs, and strategic initiatives.
- Establish strong vendor, licensing, and consulting partnerships that maximize value, reliability, and scalability of IT investments.
- Optimize the return on IT investments by selecting cost-justified solutions based on performance, reliability, supportability, upgrade paths, and industry trends.
- Implement a right-sized governance model that prioritizes technology initiatives, allocates resources effectively, and ensures alignment between IT and business objectives.
- Engage monthly with technology leaders of the Granite Companies in high impact Technology Affinity meetings to share blueprints, practices, resources, training, progress, plans, and support.
ERP & Business Systems
Drive optimization of NetSuite and integrated systems by translating operational requirements into scalable, sustainable technology solutions.Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of core application systems that support production, supply chain, sales, and other critical business operations.Partner with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process automation, workflow improvements, system enhancements, and application integrations.Deliver actionable analytics, dashboards, and reporting tools to empower data-driven decision-making across the company.Oversee user support and training programs that increase system adoption, maximize ROI, and reduce manual workarounds.Leadership Development & Team Planning
Lead, mentor, and develop the IT team—promoting high performance, technical growth, and a strong customer-service mindset.Build a pipeline of IT talent through active sourcing, coaching, and succession planning.Serve as a trusted business partner, fostering collaboration between IT and all departments to ensure aligned priorities and effective execution.Regularly assess staffing needs and organizational capabilities; guide build-vs-buy decisions related to outsourcing, contractors, and in-house expertise.Establish a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and clear communication within the IT organization.IT Infrastructure & Operations
Set and execute the strategic direction for the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring systems can support current operations while enabling scalability and future growth.Ensure that infrastructure architecture—including network, cloud, telecommunications, cybersecurity controls, and production systems—reflects best practices and delivers high reliability and performance.Develop and enforce IT policies, standards, and procedures to ensure consistent service delivery, security compliance, and operational efficiency.Oversee the selection, implementation, and ongoing management of all enterprise technology platforms, including NetSuite, manufacturing systems, networks, and end-user hardware.Establish and monitor KPIs to measure IT performance in areas such as system uptime, service desk responsiveness, project delivery, cybersecurity posture, cost efficiency, and user satisfaction.Lead the continuous improvement of IT operational processes, ensuring robust support for production environments and minimizing downtime risk.Cybersecurity, CMMC & ITAR Compliance
Own the company’s cybersecurity strategy, ensuring protection of systems, data, intellectual property, and manufacturing operations.Lead and maintain compliance with CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) requirements—defining controls, implementing required processes and documentation, and preparing the organization for assessments and ongoing audits.Ensure all technology systems, data handling processes, and third-party relationships comply with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations), including access controls, data residency, user screening, and secure storage of controlled technical information.Oversee vulnerability management, incident response planning, access management, and security awareness training across the organization.Ensure all systems and infrastructure follow industry-standard security frameworks and align with regulatory requirements.Partner with executive leadership to assess risk, develop mitigation plans, and ensure cybersecurity is integrated into technology decisions and system designs.Evaluate and manage third-party vendors, MSPs, and software partners to ensure they meet security and CMMC standards.Monitor and report on the company’s cybersecurity posture, ensuring continuous improvement and timely remediation of identified risks.Candidate Profile
This key leadership position requires seven or more years of information technology experience in a manufacturing environment with an understanding of ERP systems. The successful candidate will likely be technically oriented and inclined to maximize his / her contribution to the company. An undergraduate degree is required; an advanced degree is desired.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, proactive leader with the confidence and assertiveness to drive results. They thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and can manage multiple priorities with composure and focus. Strong organization, clear action orientation, and the ability to influence others are essential. Precision, attention to detail, and the capacity to work independently are critical to success in this role.
This individual must have the ability to create consultative business partnerships and serve as a key advisor to the senior leadership team. Experience establishing and implementing information technology best practices and raising the overall level of sophistication of the function is required.
Department of Defense (DoD) Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) experience and / or awareness preferred. Need to be a U.S. person, as defined by law, due to ITAR compliance requirements.
Locations
All Flex Solutions is headquartered in Northfield, Minnesota, and has four Minnesota manufacturing facilities : one in Northfield and three in Bloomington. The IT Director will be based in Bloomington. Working arrangements will include a mix of being onsite in both Bloomington and Northfield.
Compensation & Benefits
We offer a competitive base salary in the $150,000 to $180,000 range, based on experience and qualifications, along with an annual bonus and the opportunity to participate in long-term incentives, including a stock appreciation rights (SARs) program.
