In this position...

The Prototype Development Engineer will be responsible for the bring-up and maintenance of the labcar. We are looking for a hands-on engineer who specializes in troubleshooting and resolving issues. The engineer will support activities for prototype builds including component installation, triage of issues, implementing a fix on your own or by reaching out to relevant parties to get the support that you need. You will be part of the team that will conceptualize, design, engineer, develop and support the launch of next generation Vehicle Platform Architectures for electric vehicles at Ford.

You'll have...

• . in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer or Software Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• Ability to travel up to 25% Travel Required
• . in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer or Software Engineering
• Strong Electrical and Embedded Systems Engineering fundamentals.
• 5+ years of experience working on hardware design, board bring-up and hardware integration
• 5+ years of experience with Vehicle Network Protocols such as CAN, LIN & Automotive Ethernet
• Experience and working knowledge of systems development, vehicle architecture, battery technologies, software / hardware tool development, motor calibration technologies, OBD calibration, functional safety, network and diagnostics process.
• 3+ years of experience using embedded networking interface tools for automotive, aerospace or similar
• Experience with electrical debugging of PCB Assemblies, including the ability to read electrical schematics
• Experience writing test plans and procedures and providing go / no-go judgment
