Position Overview : Afterschool Program Aide & Driver
Were seeking energetic, dependable, and safety-minded team members to serve as Afterschool Program Aide & Driver . This dual role supports both student transportation and daily afterschool programming.
This position is ideal for college students, aspiring educators, or individuals passionate about youth development who are comfortable driving students and actively engaging with them once they arrive at the program.
Youll work closely with Lead Staff to ensure students are transported safely and supported in a positive, structured afterschool environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Transportation Duties
Safely transport students from designated schools to the Heritage Program site following assigned routes and schedulesConduct vehicle safety checks before and after each routeMaintain a calm, orderly, and respectful environment during transportSupervise students during pickup, drop-off, and transitionsCommunicate any delays, incidents, or concerns promptly to Lead StaffAfterschool Program Support
Support daily enrichment activities such as outdoor games, arts & crafts, homework help, and team-building exercisesAssist with classroom management and behavior redirection using positive reinforcement strategiesSupervise students during snack time, group activities, transitions, and dismissalHelp set up and clean up materials, supplies, and shared program spacesFollow established routines and help maintain a safe, welcoming environmentStep in to support various program needs as needed throughout the dayWhat Were Looking For :
Valid California drivers license with a clean driving recordExperience working with children (babysitting, tutoring, camps, schools, church, etc.)Reliable, punctual, and safety-focusedCalm, patient, and confident supervising groups of childrenStrong communication skills and ability to follow directionTeam player with a positive, flexible attitudeAbility to keep up with a fast-paced afterschool environmentCPR / First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)Bilingual and / or culturally responsive individuals strongly encouraged to applySchedule :
MondayFriday, approximately 1 : 00 PM 5 : 30 PMHours may vary slightly based on school dismissal timesOccasional special events or weekend events may be availableWhy Join Us :
