Shipping Clerk

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing shipments, scans bar codes, creates, and prints shipping paperwork, and ensures the correct contents of package and shipment specifications. Also, assumes responsibility for general housekeeping duties and striving toward continuous improvement.

Essential Functions

1. Schedule shipments in PLEX / ERP system
2. Stage shipments (Pull stock and build shipping units)
3. Scan Barcodes to shipments ensuring FIFO.
4. Build Master Units.
5. Pack parts as needed.
6. Ensure accurate container / piece quantities per shipment.
7. Ensure shipments are loaded per customer shipping instructions.
8. Schedule shipments in Customer Portals as needed.
9. Prepare Shipping documents per the customer requirements.
10. Communicate with customer logistics representatives as required.
11. Communicate with Production Control when there's shortages to Customer Releases or other issues.
12. Prioritize parts on Final Audit and Pack hot boards.
13. Relabel / repack parts as needed for shipments.
14. Ensure part storage aisles are safely organized.
15. Load Customer Trucks as needed.
16. Communicate Shipment Tracking as needed.
17. Review on hand finished goods periodically for old / obsolete parts.
18. Cycle Count
19. May need to work overtime as needed to ensure customer shipments are made to completion and with accuracy.
20. Ensures customer Advance Shipping Notice (ACN) is sent within the timeline required by the customer.
21. All other responsibilities as assigned.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to receive and maintain a Forklift license is required. ASPC will certify new team members.
• Regular and consistent attendance is required.

Technical Skills & Abilities

• Will need to be highly organized and able to effectively and professionally communicate in both written and verbal forms.
• Computer literate (including printing and scanning).
• Ability to receive and maintain a Forklift license is required. ASPC will certify new team members.
• Basic math skills and the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in various units of measure using whole numbers and decimals.
