Job purpose / summary / objective

Ensures all work is carried out in a safe and orderly manner. Complies with protocols and documentation as related to OSHA and food safety. Regularly inspect buildings, grounds, machines, and equipment to identify potential issues. Performs preventive maintenance on plant equipment to keep in good running order. Assist in troubleshooting problems, and perform minor mechanical repairs to minimize downtime. Work collaboratively with Operations Team to share knowledge and contribute to a Continuous Improvement environment. Protect the company's investment in machinery and equipment by exercising proper care, skill and knowledge.

General Knowledge and Skills

• Understanding of general maintenance processes and methods
• Conduct maintenance and troubleshooting of some industrial robots
• Ability to properly document Work Orders with appropriate data (labor hours, downtime, problem / cause / remedy, and parts used)
• Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including snow blowers, lawn mowers, and small hand tools
• Must understand basic electrical, plumbing, and pneumatic systems
• Willingness to develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization
• Follow appropriate safety procedures and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while maintaining equipment (Lock Out / Tag Out, Arc Flash, etc.), and ensure a safe work environment by eliminating potential equipment safety hazards
• Operate company vehicles to complete maintenance activities on the exterior of the facility and within the truck yard, as well as travel to nearby facilities and local stores to procure parts and supplies
• Performs all duties in compliance with plant rules and practices safety, conduct, sanitation, and good housekeeping.
• Capable to work at heights from ladders, and scaffolding in a safe manner.
• Capable of operating Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV) (fork truck, aerial lift, etc.) Willing to be certified through Bright Farms Training
• Must be able to work overtime if required.
• Work efficiently and effectively with supervision in a team environment.
• Familiar with basic machine shop equipment (ex : lathes and mills)

Working conditions / Environment / Travel / Schedule required

Greenhouse / Outside / Coolers / Office. Maintenance will have exposure to seasonal conditions which may range from extreme heat and humidity in the summer to cold in the winter. Often Work near moving mechanical parts including in the vicinity of occasional high noise environments is required.

Physical requirements

While performing the duties of this job, employees are expected to sometimes use hands to finger, handle or feel. Frequently standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, as well as stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing. The lifting requirements to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. The employee should have clear correctable vision at close and distance range, as well as peripheral vision to notice safety hazards.
