About Us :
The Metropolitan Water District of Salt Lake & Sandy (Metro Water) was established in 1935 by the Salt Lake City Commission. Metro Water’s primary function is to provide high quality drinking water for our member cities, Salt Lake City and Sandy City, by creating a firm water supply.
The Position :
Metro Water is seeking a full-time, entry-level engineer to coordinate and assist in the rebuild of a 150 MGD water treatment plant over the next 10+ years. This position performs various engineering and project management related duties associated with Metro Water’s infrastructure, capital improvements, lands and rights-of-way. The Engineer I also plans and oversees the scoping, planning, design, and preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for water systems engineering work with emphasis on design, construction, and operation for simple projects. The ideal candidate is a positive critical-thinker looking for a long-term career where they can make a lasting impact. This entry-level position has a minimum starting salary of $70,650 / year depending on experience.

Valid Utah Driver's License
Education and Experience : Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field. An emphasis in water treatment and water transmission is preferred. Engineer in Training status from the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing.
