Position Summary / Responsibilities

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is responsible for supporting the Physical Therapist in delivering high-quality rehabilitation services, focusing on patient care and recovery. Key responsibilities include :

  • ? Assisting in conducting patient assessments and developing individualized treatment plans.
  • ? Implementing therapy interventions to improve mobility, strength, and independence under the direction of the Physical Therapist.
  • ? Monitoring patient progress and reporting changes to the Physical Therapist.
  • ? Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
  • ? Providing education to patients and families on therapy goals and rehabilitation strategies.
  • ? Ensuring compliance with documentation, facility policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • ? Participating in facility meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and survey preparedness.
  • ? Maintaining accurate patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Requirements

  • ? Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
  • ? Current and valid PTA license / certification.
  • ? Experience working with adult / geriatric populations preferred.
  • ? Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • ? Strong communication, problem-solving, and patient care skills.
  • ? Ability to perform physical tasks, including patient transfers, equipment handling, and extended periods of standing / walking.
