This job leads a team of highly skilled and experienced analysts to develop analytics that drive decision-making processes for the organizations health network. Oversees the delivery of information necessary to support strategies that focus on improving performance under value based agreements. Develops and integrates clinical operational and financial data; applies methodologies for understanding cost and utilization patterns; conducts requirements analysis; and plans implements and manages an enterprise-wide business intelligence strategy in support of the business and operational decisions that meet the objectives of the organization.

Education

Required -Bachelors degree inmathematics computer science business administration or related field.

Work Experience

Required -10 years of experience in healthcare analytics / informatics including 5 years of management experience.

Experience using and managing staff that use key analytical tools including SQL Tableau SAS Excel.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

Exceptional health care business knowledge including knowledge of hospitals managed care / insurance products and industry trends.

Exceptional analytical skills including biostatistics predictive modeling operational analytics clinical / financial / utilization outcomes and ROI calculations.

Strong data management knowledge and ability to collaborate with and lead technical staff.

Ability to innovate make tough decisions and implement changes as well as be decisive action oriented and results driven.

Strong managerial and leadership skills and ability to maintain strong working relationships at all levels inside and across the organization and its health network and with members / clients.

Excellent organizational and multitasking skills and ability to manage simultaneous projects to meet deadlines.

Ability to pay strong attention to detail show tenacity for accuracy and demonstrate a willingness to constructively challenge staff and other teams.

Ability to work independently be a problem solver and decision maker and not only identify issues but also develop solutions and implement appropriate action plans.

Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.

Proficiency in using computers software and web-based applications.

Job Duties

Oversees the design development and ongoing support for data analytic and decision support solutions in the clinical quality cost effectiveness and population health solutions including applying methodologies for benchmarking and predictive models that drive identification for cost utilization and outcomes optimization.

Creates strategy for building or acquiring analytics that drive value by placing analytical and clinical tools on top of integrated administrative billing EMR and / or practice management systems for internal and external partners.

Optimizes and refines methodology predictive models and other analytics that segment members for performance optimization personalize analytics and insights to maximize effectiveness of the organization and its partners.

Supports the organization in understanding performance under Value Based Agreements and identifying opportunities for sustainable success.

Works with the data management team in identifying and guiding the development of the appropriate data environment necessary to efficiently and effectively perform analytics work.

Conducts in-depth product assessments to determine which analytical solutions and support components drive the most value and help enhance products to make them cost-effective.

Enhances methods and processes to improve the accuracy and automation of data analytics.

Manages staff provides guidance on appropriate techniques and procedures for conducting data manipulation and analysis and identifies areas for training and development. May be required to manage vendor relationships in some cases.

Performs other related duties as required.

Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and / or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and / or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly : activity or condition exists 2 / 3 or more of the time) to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount a job should be rated Light Work : (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and / or pulling of arm or leg controls; and / or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and / or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible. NOTE : The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace especially in an industrial setting can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.

Normal routine involves no exposure to blood body fluid or tissue and as part of their employment incumbents are not called upon to perform or assist in emergency care or first aid.

The incumbent has no occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.

Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt transport storage preparation dispensing administration cleaning and / or disposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
