About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President and Head of Business Development and Early Commercial Strategy to play a pivotal role in the advancement of its mission to develop breakthrough therapeutics for rare diseases. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping the growth trajectory of the organization through the development and execution of a comprehensive business development strategy. This includes identifying and pursuing licensing, partnership, and collaboration opportunities to accelerate the progress of clinical assets. The role demands a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of drug development and commercialization, who can balance scientific rigor with business acumen. The Vice President will also be tasked with leading a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative culture, and providing guidance on deal structuring and strategic decision-making. Applicants for this role at the company should have an advanced degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 15 years' experience in business development within the biopharmaceutical industry, with a proven track record of successful deal-making. Core skills required include excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation abilities, as well as the capacity to mentor and coach teams. The ideal candidate will be adept at commercial assessment, competitive landscape analysis, and portfolio strategy formulation, and will be expected to have a strong network within the pharmaceutical and biopharma industries.
