Summary

As an emergency response medical professional, you will provide immediate medical care to victims of accidents, violence, and acute medical conditions such as cardiac arrests or strokes. Your role will include delivering pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care until the patient is handed over to the accepting medical facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent the ambulance service at public events and provide standby services as needed.
• Document assessments and treatments using patient care charting software.
• Provide medical care for patients in both psychiatric and medical crises.
• Work as part of a two-member ambulance crew responding to emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Operate advanced life support equipment like defibrillators and electrocardiograms.
• Assess the nature and severity of medical issues to determine appropriate interventions.
• Respond to dispatch instructions and drive emergency vehicles safely to specified locations.
• Administer medications under physician guidance.
• Communicate with medical personnel for treatment instructions.
• Perform cleanliness and decontamination of the ambulance after patient transport, particularly when infectious diseases are involved.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift over 50 lbs, push / pull up to 140 lbs, and carry 80 lbs for short distances. Frequent standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and overhead reaching are required.
