The Central Processing Technologist is responsible for the maintenance and sterility of all supplies and instrumentation used during the course of the day in the operating and procedure rooms. Essential duties include :

  • Following the manufacturer recommended cleaning procedures for all autoclaves
  • Running and documenting regular checks of equipment to ensure proper and clean functioning
  • Maintain a clean and orderly sterile processing area and demonstrate proper precautions when handling sharps and infectious waste
  • Coordinating with nursing staff in anticipating needs for the days cases
  • Working efficiently and safely between cases as needed to ensure all necessary equipment is ready for the next case

Requirements

  • Two years experience working in Central Processing, preferred
  • Certification through an accredited body (such as HSPA), required
  • Prior experience working in ambulatory surgery centers, preferred

    $24-$28 / hour
