Logistics Technician

Senior Logistics Technician (Temp-Perm)

Location : Watertown, CT

Compensation : $28.00-$30.00 per hour

Shift : First shift : 6 : 00am-2 : 30am

Job Summary : Responsible for managing the receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of customer orders. Acts as a technical expert with the ability to mentor and guide team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute logistics tasks efficiently, prioritizing assignments and coordinating with all departments.
• Manage shipping schedules, subcontractor processes, and timely delivery of parts.
• Pack, label, and ship materials using various carriers and create accurate shipment documentation.
• Maintain purchase orders, ERP records, and all required documentation for inbound / outbound materials.
• Operate forklifts, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment safely.
• Prepare international shipments and ensure compliance with export regulations.
• Conduct inventory checks, manage scrap, and maintain orderly, hazard-free work areas.
• Train new employees and assist with continuous improvement initiatives.
• Follow all safety guidelines and report hazardous conditions promptly.

Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or GED required; industry certifications (e.g., APICS) preferred.

Work Environment

Fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and moving machinery. Safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection required in designated areas.
