Job Description
Position: Mental Health Specialist
Rate: $55/hour
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field (required)
- PA License as a professional counselor, social worker, clinical social worker, or PDE certification in School Social Work (required)
- Knowledge of mental health disorders, behaviors, treatment modalities, crisis intervention, and community service agencies (required)
- Experience working with children in a public school setting (preferred)
- Excellent communication skills
- Current FBI fingerprints, PA Criminal, and Child Abuse background checks
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Planning and implementing strategies to assist students in crisis
- Conducting individual and group counseling sessions for special needs students
- Developing positive relationships with students, families, schools, and agencies
- Coordinating with the school, service providers, families, and school district personnel to meet the needs of each individual learner, providing the best care, safety, welfare, and security for the students
