SUMMARY OF POSITION :

Under the direction of the Plant Supervisor, the Shipping Associate prepares order for freight, express or parcel post shipments in accordance with shipping practices and requirements. Assemble and check orders, do packing and crating, attach shipping instructions. Operates a forklift, electrical hoist or other power driven equipment to load or move materials. Supplies production areas with needed materials from inventory. Load or unload material onto or from pallets, trays, shelves, or trucks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Inspect material for quantity, quality, type, etc. and ensure bills of lading are correct as well as following the incoming receiving guidelines including receipt into system.
• Prepare outside service orders in accordance with shipping requirements including shipping documentation, data entry into system and validation of part and quantity to be shipped.
• Maintain receiving inspection logs.
• Stage, prepare and load freight with necessary documentation for customer shipments.
• Operates overhead crane and fork trucks while moving product
• Route or deliver materials to storage or manufacturing locations
• Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor
• Maintains a safe & clean work environment & departmental housekeeping standards
• Other duties as assigned or required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; frequently required to sit and talk or hear; occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
