This role is focused on people leadership, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration - ensuring teams are well-supported, engaged, and aligned with business priorities. / ppThe ideal candidate has proven experience managing multiple teams, guiding technical conversations without needing to be the coder, and fostering an environment where developers, business owners, and technical partners work together effectively. / ppKey Responsibilities / ppTeam Leadership People Management / pulliProvide direct management to multiple software developers across teams. / liliConduct regular 1 : 1s and team meetings to mentor, coach, and guide professional growth. / liliFoster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. / liliEnsure teams are empowered to bring forward new ideas and solutions. / liliMonitor team health, morale, and performance, and proactively address challenges. / li / ulpAgile Process Leadership / pulliActively participate in and support multiple Scrum teams, attending sprint ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews). / liliPartner with Scrum Masters and Product Owners to ensure smooth sprint execution and delivery alignment. / liliPrioritize and sequence work across teams in collaboration with business owners and project managers. / liliChampion best practices in Agile delivery, software development lifecycle (SDLC), and DevOps collaboration. / li / ulpStakeholder Engagement / pulliServe as liaison between development teams, government business owners, project management, and technical groups (e.g., security, DevOps, infrastructure). / liliHelp business stakeholders refine priorities and make informed decisions with technical input. / liliTranslate business goals into actionable plans for development teams. / liliCommunicate team progress, risks, dependencies, and issues clearly to leadership and stakeholders. / li / ulpTechnical Strategic Guidance / pulliCollaborate with technical leads and architects to ensure teams align with enterprise standards and architectural direction. / liliStay informed on industry trends and federal health IT initiatives to help guide strategic planning. / liliEnsure that development, DevOps, and security considerations are well-integrated into delivery. / li / ulpRequired Qualifications / pulli12 years of professional IT experience, with at least 5+ years in software engineering team management. / lili5 years of experience managing multiple distributed Agile teams (remote team management experience strongly preferred). / lili5 years of experience mentoring, coaching, and developing technical staff. / lili5 Years of experience in software engineering principles, Agile methodologies, and SDLC. / liliU.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance. / li / ulpPreferred Qualifications / pulliFamiliarity with federal health IT programs and regulations. / liliExperience engaging with technical teams (DevOps, Security, Cloud, Infrastructure) in an oversight or collaborative capacity. / liliUnderstanding of Java / J2EE, AWS hosting / monitoring, and DevOps practices (not required to code, but able to guide). / liliSAFe or other scaled Agile framework experience. / liliExcellent communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. / liliExperience working in a government contracting environment a plus. / li / ulpWhy This Role Matters / ppThis position is less about writing code and more about building high-performing teams, ensuring process alignment, and serving as a trusted partner between development, business, and technical stakeholders.
