Entry HVAC Technician

Technician – Power, HVAC, Diesel, Pumps | Full-Time

Join a trusted industry leader in equipment rental and service as a Power & HVAC Technician, where you’ll work hands-on with generators, diesel-driven pumps, HVAC systems, compressors, and power distribution equipment. In this vital role, you’ll perform inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs that keep equipment running safely, efficiently, and ready for customers.

What You’ll Do

• Safely load, unload, and set up power and climate-control equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) and minor repairs on generators, HVAC systems, pumps, compressors, and related accessories.
• Inspect equipment to identify issues early and ensure safe, reliable, and low‑downtime performance.
• Troubleshoot and service diesel engines, electrical systems, HVAC units, heaters, power distribution panels, and pumping equipment.
• Ensure all equipment is cleaned, tested, and ready for rentals and field deployment.

Essential Skills & Experience

• 1–3 years of experience maintaining or repairing Power, HVAC, Compressor, or Pump equipment.
• Practical knowledge of generators, power distribution, A/C units, heaters, HVAC systems, and diesel-driven pumps.
• Working understanding of diesel engines, electrical/electronic systems, and hydraulics.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn new systems quickly.

Preferred Qualifications

• EPA Universal Certification (highly preferred).
• Strong troubleshooting and preventive maintenance capabilities.
• Hands-on experience with generators, compressors, hydraulics, diesel systems, and electrical components.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newport News, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
