SUPERVISORY ACCOUNTANT

Supervisory Accountant

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ACCOUNTANT in the FM SYSTEMS DIVISION (N84) of COMNAVRESFOR. Responsibilities include applying expert knowledge of accounting and financial management principles, methods, techniques, and financial management / automated accounting systems. You will plan work, set and adjust short-term priorities, prepare work completion schedules, identify subordinate employees' developmental and training needs, and provide or arrange for needed development and training. You will evaluate the technical ability of subordinate activity comptrollers and ensure financial management and FM systems training is completed.

Requirements include in addition to the basic requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must include experience applying working level knowledge of accounting principles, methods and techniques, working with financial management and accounting systems, resolving system, accounting or data entry problems, utilizing SABRS, NERP, ADVANA, CFMS, DTS, EDA and other similar automated systems, performing survey work to identify potential problems with FM systems, and studying and revising existing systems or design of systems / subsystems.

Education requirements include a degree in accounting or a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law. Alternatively, a combination of education and experience may be used to qualify.

Additional information includes the possibility of working an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and / or unusual duty hours may be required. Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees.
