Job Description

Drive broadband expansion by turning complex GIS and data into clear insights that secure funding and compliance.

This role provides critical GIS and data analytics support for Brightspeed's broadband grant program across a 20state footprint. Working closely with legal, engineering, and business teams, you will ensure compliance with state and federal funding requirements by developing spatial datasets, reconciling addresses to FCC broadband serviceable location (BSL) standards, and producing accurate reporting. The position requires advanced expertise in GIS, SQL, and Alteryx, along with strong analytical skills to model network and service area data. Success in this role means delivering precise maps, automated workflows, and actionable insights that strengthen Brightspeed's grant applications, regulatory filings, and broadband expansion strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Compliance & Reporting

Support state and federal broadband grant applications and reporting requirements.

Develop and maintain GIS datasets, shapefiles, KMZs, and other spatial data formats.

Automate workflows and manage large datasets using Alteryx, SQL, and Python.

Provide spatial and data support to the Broadband Office, Legal, Engineering, and other business units.

Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the broadband grant program and organizational goals.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Data Analytics, or a related field; or equivalent practical work experience.

Demonstrated proficiency with GIS software (ESRI ArcGIS Pro v3 or higher), including layer manipulation and import / export of SHP / KML / LPXX formats.
