Certified Phlebotomist : Full-Time - Variable Shift s – Pittsburgh, PA 15215 ( Blawnox Area)

- Pay Range : up to $20.00 per hour as a new employee. Promotional performance-based increases can be earned, after hire.
- This position requires flexibility with variable shift options (Daylight, Evening, Night) and participation in holiday and weekend rotations.

Core Responsibilities
As a phlebotomist , you will be the face of the lab, ensuring accurate and reliable specimen collection and outstanding patient care :
Expert Collection : Perform accurate blood specimen procurement via venipuncture, heelstick , and fingerstick , strictly following proper patient identification and safety protocols. May instruct patients on self-collection procedures and collect non-blood samples.Customer Service : Interact professionally and courteously with all laboratory customers and handle telephone inquiries promptly.Logistics & Data Entry : Safely transport specimens from on-site and off-site locations . Utilize various computer systems for accurate data entry, order processing (receive, cancel, charge, credit), and ensuring sample identity.Compliance & Safety : Maintain strict adherence to all laboratory and hospital policies, including hand hygiene, proper isolation precautions , quality control, and compliance standards.Team Support : Demonstrate dependability, reliability, and independent judgment in prioritizing needs. May participate in training new staff and must promptly report unusual or problematic incidents to supervisory personnel.Inventory : Monitor and maintain necessary supplies in a cost-effective manner.Advanced Procedures (as needed) : May perform arterial puncture following strict collection and post-collection guidelines.Minimum Qualification Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent.Certification from an accredited Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program; Phlebotomy Technician (PBT(ASCP)) or equivalentMinimum 6 months of experience performing phlebotomy procedures.Knowledge of medical terminology and prior experience with a Laboratory Information System (LIS).
